New films raise awareness of art, music and drama therapy

We know many people have heard of art, music and drama therapy – but they’re not always fully understood. Our new series of films aims to change this and highlight the incredible impact arts therapists have on people’s lives.

The films have been developed from a collaborative project with the British Association of Music Therapy and the British Association of Dramatherapists, which was funded by NHS England to develop the three arts therapy professions.

What is art therapy?

These films and resources are designed to help people understand the powerful impact of arts therapies, whether they are seeking help, exploring career options, or interested in employing an arts therapist.

In their own words – stories from service users

We asked people who have experienced the positive benefits of art, music and drama therapy to share their experiences.

They tell us how it transformed their lives, in their own words.
