This is art therapy

This is art therapy is a UK-wide campaign championing the value, impact and accessibility of art therapy.

Raising awareness of art therapy

Art therapy can make a profound difference to people’s lives. It is an established form of psychotherapy, delivered by trained art therapists (also called art psychotherapists).

Art therapy can:

  1. Help when words are not enough

  2. Provide accessible and adaptable therapy to a wide range of people and settings

  3. Provide interventions with a growing evidence base

But too often, access to art therapy is limited — whether through lack of information, funding, or commissioning.

That’s why we’ve launched this campaign: to raise awareness among decision-makers and the public, and to show why art therapy should be part of services people in all stages of life can rely on.

Get involved

Our first campaign focus is art therapy in hospices week, running 22–28 September 2025. Join us in highlighting the role of art therapy in hospice care.
