I keep returning to portraits as an immediate expression of emotion/condition. This one was made with no pre-planning apart from the intention of seeing what comes. I didn’t want it to settle or be complete; there is no right way round, each side works for me. I worked and painted, overlaying and overlaying again. There was intent to balance physical body with imagined mind state.
