Film is a powerful medium to use in clinical settings, allowing clients to tell a story, from lived experience or made up. Therapists can also use film as a tool for reflection or to tell your own stories. This course will offer the opportunity for you to practice making a film in a day.

This course outlines the legal and regulatory framework governing working with children who are looked after, on Special Guardianship orders, in kinship care, or adoption. It promotes best practice in working safely, ethically and effectively with this group of children, many of whom have experienced complex trauma.

This masterclass focuses on advancing effective art therapy practice with people who experience psychosis. Contemporary understanding of psychosis is shaped by service user-informed approaches. This class will provide an opportunity for art therapists to further consider how to use service-user-informed models, research, and guidance effectively.

Dyadic parent-child art psychotherapy - Level 2

Dyadic parent-child art psychotherapy is a way of working which focuses directly on the child’s primary attachment relationship. This course equips art therapists who are already developing a dyadic art therapy practice with what they need to feel confident and competent to work in this way.

This Level 6 accredited diploma has been tailor-made by the British Association of Art Therapists and is accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). This intensive theory-informed and practice-based course will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to provide effective, inspiring, ethical, and art-based supervision. We will be running this course every other year. <br /> <br /> If you don't enrol this year, the next time we hope to run the course will be in autumn 2028.
Frequently asked questions
Bookings for our online Introduction, Foundation, ARTiculate, CPD and Masterclass courses close one week before the start date, at 10.00am.
Joining instructions and materials will be available in your Memberzone, under bookings, once bookings have closed. A reminder email will be sent out to delegates one week before the course.
It is the attendees’ responsibility to check they have access to the joining instructions before the course. Contacting the office on the day or evening before the start date will not always be responded to prior to the course starting.
Employer funded bookings are available for our online Introduction, Foundation, ARTiculate, CPD and Masterclass courses.
These bookings can be made on our website by paying by card at no extra cost. The booking should be made on the delegate’s account as we will need their contact details for the course. If they don’t have an account they can create one for free here. The employer will be required to provide their credit/debit card details to complete the payment. Please also tick the employer funded option at checkout.
If your employer wants to pay by invoice, you will need to complete our Invoice Details Request – Course Booking Form, and return it to us along with a PO number. Please note, we cannot accept the form without a PO number. Please note, there is an additional £20 admin fee for bookings via invoice.
