Healing trauma with Guided Drawing: a bilateral approach to sensorimotor body mapping
Guided Drawing is a body-focused art therapy approach that uses rhythmic, bilateral drawing to enhance embodied awareness and creative expression. This experiential course explores its application within trauma-informed art therapy practice.
What is Guided Drawing?
Drawing on sensorimotor and trauma-informed principles, Guided Drawing invites participants to explore movement, sensation and perception through rhythmic, bilateral mark-making. Working on large sheets of paper with simple art materials, participants engage in an embodied creative process that may support self-awareness, emotional regulation and reflective therapeutic practice.
What will you learn
This continued professional development course explores the theory and practice of Guided Drawing and its application within trauma-informed art therapy.
The course covers:

- Experience Guided Drawing as a form of bilateral body mapping.
- Explore how specific drawing forms may support nervous system regulation in therapeutic practice.

How will you learn
