About Amber
I work with Children, Teenagers and Young Adults. I am trained as an Art Psychotherapist and I am the founder and managing director of ‘ORANGE ZEBRA’ an Arts Therapies company in Hertfordshire & Essex.
I constantly grow my experience in with working with families. Working together to build change in a child’s mental health.
Working creatively with young people makes sense, it gives them the option to do something practical such as painting, clay, role play, joint games alongside talking ( if they want to) which can instantly alleviate the stress and any initial discomfort of being ‘in therapy’. I have found this extra layer of communication/ engagement builds a deep sense of trust much faster, and more authentically. I find following the young persons natural pace allows them to reach goals quicker than forcing therapy in a particular direction. Sometimes returning to simple practices such as learning to co-regulate emotions together can reduce anxiety.
