This course is for art therapists who are thinking of becoming private, sessional, or independent practitioners. Whether you are experienced or newly qualified, this course will offer you all the practical tips you need for setting up your practice and preparing for self-employed work.

What you will learn

  • Practical knowledge of how to set up as a private, sessional or independent practitioner.
  • Familiarity with governance requirements for private and independent practice.
  • Clarity on what type of practitioner you are setting out to be.
  • Competence to work safely, ethically, and legally.

How you will learn

The focus of the course is practical and will include examples of day-to-day private practice.

Learning will be through presentations, small and larger group discussions, and time to reflect and ask questions.

Attendees will also be given a resource pack of materials to enable them to continue their learning after the course.
